Original 1908 American Pool
This is the original 1908 version of American Pool that was commonly known as "B.B.C. Co. Pool" during the 1920's (after the Brunswick-Balke-Collender Company that mass-marketed the idea for the game). It is still played in this original form in Great Britain, Ireland and Australia. |
HOW TO PLAY |
1. Place your mouse over
the rack of balls and then select the game mode you want from the selections
that will appear - you against a friend, you against the computer or the
computer against itself. 2. If you select you against the computer you can alter the computer's skill level using the red/yellow sliding control - set it to all red for amateur, all yellow for professional or anywhere in between as you require. 3. When playing the game you aim your cue by clicking on and dragging the aiming guide-line to the desired target. If your target is a ball, as opposed to a cushion, you can fine-tune your shot by right-clicking on the target ball to zoom in - right-click again to zoom back out. If you are cueing after your opponent has potted the cue-ball you can adjust the position of the cue-ball by clicking on and dragging it. 4. You can adjust where your cue strikes the cue-ball using the ball control at the top right of the control area - move the cross-hair to the desired position. 5. You can adjust the power of your shot using the red/yellow sliding control at the far right of the control area - set it to all red for maximum power, all yellow for no power or anywhere in between as you require. 6. To execute your shot click on the cue-ball at the bottom right of the control area. 7. You can re-start the game at any time by clicking on the circular arrows at the top left of the control area. |
